Study on the correlation between psychological symptoms and TCM constitution of vocational college students
Objective To explore the correlation between TCM constitution and psychological symptoms by investigating the psychological symptoms and TCM constitution types of vocational college students,to predict the dangerous constitution types of psychological symptoms,and to provide theoretical basis for preventing the occurrence of psychological diseases.Methods By using the method of cross-sectional study,the Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90)scale and TCM constitution scale were used to evaluate psychological symptoms and TCM constitution of 546 vocational college students.Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the influences of physical factors on psychological symptoms.Results Among 546 vocational college students,the top three of the norm of psychological symptom factors are obsessive-compulsive symptoms,sleep and diet,and interpersonal sensitivity.The correlation analysis showed that there was a extremely significant positive correlation between hostility and Yang deficiency(P<0.01),the correlation coefficient was 0.73,which was the largest;there was a extremely significant negative correlation between hostility and gentleness(r=-0.63,P<0.01);others with extremely significant positive correlation were blood stasis and anxiety,somatization and special constitution(P<0.01);those with significant positive correlation were somatization and damp-heat constitution,Yin deficiency and terror,Qi depression and obsessive-compulsive symptoms(P<0.05).The multiple regression analysis showed that the effects of Yang deficiency on hostility,blood stasis on anxiety and special constitution on somatization were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a certain correlation between TCM constitution and psychological symptoms.Gentleness is the protective constitution of psychological symptoms.The three biased constitutions of Yang deficiency,blood stasis and special constitution may be the risk factors of mental health of vocational college students.
