Analysis of clinical characteristics and related risk factors of newly diagnosed hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in rural areas
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and related risk factors of newly diagnosed hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in rural areas of Macheng city. Methods From August 2021 to September 2022,182 newly diagnosed T2DM patients hospitalized in the endocrinology department of our hospital were selected and divided into≤40 years old group(early onset)and>40 years old group(late onset)according to the age of onset. The general data, related indicators and complications of the patients were collected. The risk factors of newly diagnosed early onset T2DM were analyzed. Results Of the 182 patients,27 case were early onset and 155 case were late onset. The male, proportion of family history of diabetes, uric acid(UA),triglyceride(TG)levels, proportions of carotid plaque, acute complications and microvascular complications in the≤40 years old group were higher than those in the>40 years old group, and the age, systolic blood pressure(SBP)and apolipoprotein A1(ApoA1)level were lower than those in the>40 years old group(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis results showed that gender(male),family history of diabetes and TG were independent risk factors for newly diagnosed early onset T2DM(P<0.05).Conclusion The overall blood glucose level of newly diagnosed T2DM patients in rural areas is high, and the prevalence of microvascular complications is high.Male, family history of diabetes and TG are independent risk factors for newly diagnosed early onset T2DM.
