Effects of loop ileostomy surgery and colostomy combined with extended nursing on nutritional status and post-traumatic growth in patients with colorectal cancer
Objective To explore the effects of loop ileostomy surgery and colostomy combined with extended nursing on nutritional status and post-traumatic growth in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with colorectal cancer admitted in our hospital were divided into control group(58 cases)and study group(58 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with colostomy, and the study group was treated with loop ileostomy surgery;both groups were given extended nursing intervention. The operation-related indicators, gastrin(GAS),hepatocyte growth factor(HGF)levels, nutritional status indicators and Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI)score were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time, first exhaust time and postoperative hospitalization time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).At 7 d after operation, the levels of GAS and HGF in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 7 d after operation, the levels of total protein, albumin, prealbumin and transferrin in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 4 weeks after operation, the scores of each dimension and total score of PTGI in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Loop ileostomy surgery combined with extended nursing can inhibit the growth and proliferation of tumor cells in patients with colorectal cancer, improve nutritional indicators, enhance the level of post-traumatic growth, and promote postoperative rehabilitation.
