Effect of modified Xiaochaihu decoction combined with levocetirizine in the treatment of acute urticaria and its influences on inflammatory factors, immune factors and allergic reactions
Objective To investigate the effect of modified Xiaoc haihudecoction combined with levocetirizine in the treatment of acute urticaria and its influences on inflammatory factors, immune factors and allergic reactions. Methods A total of 120 patients with acute urticaria who were treated from July 2019 to July 2022 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with levocetirizine, and the observation group was treated with modified Xiaoc haihu decoction combined with levocetirizine. The improvement of symptoms, levels of inflammatory factors, immune factors and allergic reaction indexes were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the scores of pruritus degree, number of wheals, frequency of wheals and duration of wheals between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the scores of pruritus degree, number of wheals, frequency of wheals and duration of wheals in the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the levels of total immunoglobulin E(tIgE),eosinophil cationic protein(ECP)and secretory immunoglobulin E(sIgE)between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the levels of tIgE,ECP and sIgE in the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the levels of regulated upon activation normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES)and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the levels of RANTES and MCP-1 in the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Modified Xiaochaihu decoction combined with levocetirizine in the treatment of patients with acute urticaria can effectively relieve symptoms, improve the levels of inflammatory factors, immune factors and allergic reaction indexes.
