Objective To investigate the effect of daggligin combined with insulin pump intensification on islet function in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with T2DM who were treated from August 2019 to August 2022 were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into control group and study group according to the lottery method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given metformin combined with insulin pump intensification treatment, and the study group was given daggligin combined with insulin pump intensification treatment. The treatment effects of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial plasma glucose(2 h PG)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the body weight and body mass index(BMI)of the study group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the fasting insulin(FINS)level and homeostatic model assessment for insulin of β-cell(HOMA-β)of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the level of malondialdehyde(MDA)was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Daggligin combined with insulin pump intensification has a significant effect on elderly patients with T2DM,which can effectively reduce blood glucose indexes, body weight and BMI,and improve islet function.
