Effect of heating and humidifying high-flow nasal catheter ventilation and nasal continuous positive airway pressure ventilation combined with caffeine citrate in the treatment of recurrent apnea in premature infants and its influence on prognosis outcome
Objective To investigate the effect of heating and humidifying high-flow nasal catheter ventilation(HHFNC)and nasal continuous positive airway pressure ventilation(nCPAP)combined with caffeine citrate in the treatment of recurrent apnea in premature infants and its influence on prognosis outcome. Methods A total of 80 premature infants with recurrent apnea admitted in our department from June 2018 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects. The premature infants were divided into group A and group B by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The group A was treated with HHFNC combined with caffeine citrate, and the group B was treated with nCPAP combined with caffeine citrate. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the group A was higher than that in the group B(P<0.05).After treatment, the partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2)in the group A were higher than those in the group B,and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)was lower than that in the group B(P<0.05).After treatment, the number of apnea in the group A was less than that in the group B(P<0.05);the disappearance time of apnea,non-invasive assisted ventilation time and hospitalization time in the group A were shorter than those in the group B(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse prognosis outcomes in the group A was lower than that in the group B(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of ventilation compliance in the group A was higher than that in the group B(P<0.05).Conclusion HHFNC combined with caffeine citrate in the treatment of recurrent apnea in premature infants can improve the therapeutic effect, ameliorate the blood gas indexes and clinical symptoms of premature infants, accelerate the recovery rate, reduce the incidence of adverse prognostic outcomes, and elevate the excellent and good rate of ventilation compliance, which is worthy of promotion.
