Value of anti-Mullerian hormone and sex hormone levels in predicting ovarian reserve function in patients of different ages
Objective To analyze the value of anti-Mullerian hormone(AMH)and sex hormone levels in predicting ovarian reserve function in patients of different ages.Methods The clinical data of 146 patients with infertility admitted from August 2022 to January 2023 were selected and divided into group A(≤29 years old,52 cases),group B(30-35 years old,54 cases)and group C(≥36 years old,40 cases)according to their different ages;according to the ovarian reserve function,the patients were divided into normal ovarian function group(37 cases),ovarian dysfunction group(40 cases),premature ovarian failure group(34 cases)and polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)group(35 cases).The levels of AMH,antral follicle count(AFC)and sex hormones[estradiol(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)]in different age groups and different ovarian reserve function groups were compared;the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the value of age,AMH,AFC and sex hormone indexes in predicting ovarian reserve function.Results The level of AMH and AFC in the group A were higher than those in the group B and the group C,and the levels of LH and FSH were lower than those in the group B and the group C(P<0.05).The levels of AMH,AFC and E2 in the PCOS group were higher than those in the normal ovarian function group,the ovarian dysfunction group and the premature ovarian failure group,and the FSH level was lower than that in the normal ovarian function group,the ovarian dysfunction group and the premature ovarian failure group(P<0.05);the LH level in the premature ovarian failure group was higher than that in the other three groups(P<0.05).Among the diseases with abnormal ovarian reserve function predicted by each indexes,the area under the curve(AUC)of AMH was the largest.Conclusion With the increase of age,the level of AMH and AFC decreased gradually,and the levels of LH and FSH increased gradually;compared with different ovarian reserve function groups,AMH,AFC and E2 levels are highly expressed in the PCOS group,FSH and LH levels are highly expressed in the premature ovarian failure group;compared with sex hormone indexes and AFC,AMH can effectively assist in the diagnosis of ovarian reserve function abnormal diseases.
