Research progress of hepatic gluconeogenesis and its role in type 2 diabetes mellitus
The main feature of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is insulin resistance(IR),which is characterized by decreased effect of inhibiting hepatic glucose output and abnormal expression of hepatic gluconeogenesis.Gluconeogenesis mainly occurs in the hepar, and its normal transport ensures that the body's blood glucose is at a normal steady-state level. This article reviews the research progress of hepatic gluconeogenesis and its regulation process, and the role of hepatic gluconeogenesis in the pathogenesis and treatment of T2DM,in order to provide reference for clinical treatment of T2DM.
