Comparison of diagnostic value of musculoskeletal ultrasound and MRI in rotator cuff injury
Objective To compare the diagnostic value of musculoskeletal ultrasound(US)and MRI in rotator cuff injury. Methods A total of 57 patients with suspected rotator cuff injury who were treated in Yixing People's Hospital from December 2020 to March 2022 were selected as the study objects. All patients underwent musculoskeletal US and MRI examinations before surgery.McNemer test was performed on the results of musculoskeletal US and MRI with shoulder arthroscopy as the gold standard, and Kappa test was used to evaluate the consistency of musculoskeletal US and MRI in the diagnosis of rotator cuff injury. Results McNemer test results showed that there was no significant difference between musculoskeletal US and MRI in the diagnosis of rotator cuff injury(P=1.000),and Kappa test showed that the diagnostic results of the two methods were in good agreement(κ=0.846,P=0.000).Conclusion Musculoskeletal US can be used as the preferred inspection method for the diagnosis of rotator cuff injury.MRI can be performed when the diagnosis of shoulder joint US is not clear or more detailed imaging data are needed before surgery.
