Effects of high dietary fiber intervention on visceral fat and pancreatic islet endocrine system in obesity patients with abnormal glucose tolerance
Objective To analyze the effects of high dietary fiber intervention on visceral fat and pancreatic islet endocrine system in obesity patients with abnormal glucose tolerance. Methods From May 2021 to May 2023,60 obesity patients with abnormal glucose tolerance who were treated in Shaanxi Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into control group and observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received calorie restrict diet(CRD)intervention, and the observation group implemented high dietary fiber intervention on this basis. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the fat mass and body fat percentage(BFP)of the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the levels of fasting serum insulin(FINS),homeostasis model assessment insulin-resistance index(HOMA-IR)and leptin in the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the viscera fat index(VFI),abdominal fat thickness, prehepatic fat thickness and epicardial fat thickness of the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion High dietary fiber intervention can significantly reduce fat accumulation in obesity patients with abnormal glucose tolerance, ameliorate pancreatic islet endocrine system function, and improve treatment satisfaction.
