Effect of zolmitriptan combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of migraine without aura in acute attack stage
Objective To investigate the effect of zolmitriptan combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of migraine without aura(MwoA)in acute attack stage. Methods A total of 120 patients with MwoA in acute attack stage admitted from September 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects, and the patients were divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with zolmitriptan combined with coil sham stimulation, and the study group was treated with zolmitriptan combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score and pain attack frequency of the two groups decreased, and those in the study group were lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the level of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)in the two groups increased, and the levels of substance P(SP)and β-endorphin(β-EP)decreased,and those in the study group were better than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of each dimension of Migraine Specific Quality-of-Life Questionnaire(MSQ)in the two groups increased, and those in the study group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Zolmitriptan combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of MwoA in acute attack stage can significantly decline the pain symptoms of patients, reduce the frequency of pain attacks, improve the quality of life, and has high safety, which is worthy of promotion.
