Effect of modified Xuanfei Pingchuan decoction combined with acupoint application on cough variant asthma with wind-cold attacking lung syndrome and its influence on airway remodeling
Objective To explore the effect of modified Xuanfei Pingchuan decoction combined with acupoint application on cough variant asthma with wind-cold attacking lung syndrome and its influence on airway remodeling.Methods A total of 100 patients with cough variant asthma with wind-cold attacking lung syndrome treated from April 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into control group and observation group,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the observation group was treated with modified Xuanfei Pingchuan decoction combined with acupoint application on the basis of the control group.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the eosinophil counts(EOS)and interleukin-4(IL-4)level in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the level of interferon-γ(IFN-γ)was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)and alveolar nitric oxide(CaNO)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF),human cartilage glycoprotein-39(HC-gp39),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1(TIMP-1)and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Modified Xuanfei Pingchuan decoction combined with acupoint application in the treatment of cough variant asthma with wind-cold attacking lung syndrome has a satisfactory effect.It can regulate inflammatory factors indexes,reduce FeNO and CaNO,and inhibit airway remodeling.
