Objective To explore the medication rules of Chinese patent medicine containing Forsythia suspensa,and to provide the basis for the clinical medication and further development of Forsythia suspensa.Methods The prescriptions of Chinese patent medicine containing Forsythia suspensa in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia,the New National Traditional Chinese Patent Medicines and Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China Drug Standards·Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Preparation were collected and a database was established.Data mining technology was used to conduct frequency analysis,correlation analysis and cluster analysis to explore the prescription medication rules of Chinese patent medicine containing Forsythia suspensa.Results A total of 183 prescriptions of Chinese patent medicine containing Forsythia suspensa were obtained,involving 302 Chinese medicines,top five Chinese medicines with high frequency were Forsythia suspensa,Glycyrrhiza uralensis,Scutellaria baicalensis,Mentha haplocalyx and Lonicera japonica.The higher frequency of medicinal properties was cold and warm,and the higher frequency of medicinal taste was bitter and acrid,and the common channel tropism was lung and stomach.The most frequently used Chinese patent medicines containing Forsythia suspensa are heat-clearing drugs,followed by relieving drugs,tonic drugs,phlegm-resolving cough-relieving and asthma-relieving drugs.The dosage forms of Chinese patent medicines containing Forsythia suspensa were mostly pills and tablets.Conclusion Heat-clearing and detoxifying Chinese medicines represented by Forsythia suspensa-Lonicera japonica are widely used in Chinese patent medicines containing Forsythia suspensa,mainly for the treatment of pulmonary diseases,which is consistent with the results of modern pharmacological research.
