Longitudinal comparative analysis and inspiration of blood collection and supply in Xi'an under major public health events
Objective To explore the situation of blood collection and supply in Xi'an under major public health events.Methods A retrospective data analysis method was used to compare the collection and supply of suspended red blood cells and platelets,blood allocation,and demographic characteristics of blood donors during the three rounds of sudden public health events in Xi'an city from January 25,2020 to February 28,2020,from December 23,2021 to January 24,2022,and from March 6,2022 to March 28,2022.Results During the first round of events in January 2020,the daily stock of suspended red blood cells dropped to close to 0;during the third round of events in March 2022,the number of suspended red blood cells increased continuously.During the three rounds of events,the daily inventory and daily stock of platelets fluctuated greatly.The supply of suspended red blood cells during the first and third rounds of events mainly depended on the collection of the unit,while the supply of suspended red blood cells during the second round of events mainly depended on blood allocation;during the three rounds of events,platelet supply mainly depended on the collection of this unit.During the three rounds of events,the blood donor population was getting younger and younger,and the proportion of blood donors with college degree was increasing.Conclusion Major public health events have effects on the blood security work in Xi'an and help to accumulate valuable work experience.Blood collection and supply institutions should respond flexibly according to the government prevention and control measures and the trend of the occurrence and development of events,adjust their work ideas and priorities in a timely manner,and constantly improve the emergency guarantee mechanism for blood collection and supply.
