Application effect of frontal flap and submental island flap in facial defect repair after oral and maxillofacial tumor resection
Objective To investigate the application effect of frontal flap and submental island flap in facial defect repair after oral and maxillofacial tumor resection. Methods A total of 120 patients with facial defect after oral and maxillofacial tumor resection admitted from January 2015 to May 2021 were selected as the research objects, and the patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with kite flap repair, and the observation group was treated with frontal flap and submental island flap repair. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The operation time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group, and the amount of bleeding was more than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the survival rate of skin flap between the two groups(P>0.05).The Visual Analogue Score(VAS)score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the aesthetic score was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidences of scar hyperplasia, pigmentation and temporary dysfunction in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Frontal flap and submental island flap are good methods for facial defect repair after oral and maxillofacial tumor resection, which can reduce pain, improve facial aesthetics, and have low incidence of adverse events.
