Analysis of clinical characteristics and risk factors of colorectal cancer complicated with sarcopenia
Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and risk factors of colorectal cancer complicated with sarcopenia. Methods A total of 341 patients with colorectal cancer admitted from April to September 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to whether combined with sarcopenia, the patients were divided into combined group(combined with sarcopenia)and non-combined group(non-combined with sarcopenia). The general data and clinical characteristics of the two groups were compared;binary Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the factors affecting sarcopenia in patients with colorectal cancer. Results Among the 341 patients with colorectal cancer, there were 104 cases of sarcopenia, accounting for 30.50%;there were 237 cases without sarcopenia, accounting for 69.50%.There were statistically significant differences in age, primary tumor location, body mass index(BMI)and lung metastasis between the two groups(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in clinical symptoms and invasion depth between the two groups(P<0.05);there were no significant differences in the degree of differentiation and Dukes stage between the two groups(P>0.05).Age≥60 years old, primary tumor located in the rectum, high level of BMI,combined with lung metastasis, and invasion depth with T3-T4 stage were independent risk factors for colorectal cancer patients complicated with sarcopenia(P<0.05).Conclusion Age,primary tumor location,BMI,lung metastasis, and invasion depth are risk factors for sarcopenia in patients with colorectal cancer,it is necessary to be alert to such risk factors to reduce or prevent the occurrence of sarcopenia.
