Effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on metabolic indexes in male patients with schizophrenia
Objective To investigate the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)on body mass index(BMI),waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose(FBG),triglycerides(TG)and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)in male patients with schizophrenia. Methods Fifty-two male patients with schizophrenia were divided into observation group(27 cases)and control group(25 cases)by random number table method. The observation group was treated with rTMS on the basis of olanzapine tablets, and the control group was treated with transcranial magnetic pseudo stimulation on the basis of olanzapine tablets. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared;the effect of combined rTMS treatment on metabolic indexes in male patients with schizophrenia was analyzed. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 92.59%,which was higher than 72.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the proportion of abnormal TG and HDL-C in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of BMI and TG in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the waist circumference was greater than that before treatment, and the HDL-C level was lower than that before treatment, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, the TG level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the HDL-C level was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Combined with rTMS treatment can reduce the abnormal metabolic indexes in male patients with schizophrenic.
