Effect of plate and screw internal fixation in the treatment of patients with traumatic fracture of long bones of extremities and its influences on VAS score and incidence of adverse events
Objective To investigate the effect of plate and screw internal fixation in the treatment of patients with traumatic fracture of long bones of extremities and its influences on Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score and incidence of adverse events.Methods A total of 80 patients with traumatic fracture of long bones of extremities admitted from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment schemes,the patients were divided into control group and observation group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with closed reduction and interlocking intramedullary nail internal fixation,and the observation group was treated with plate and screw internal fixation.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The operation time,hospitalization time and fracture healing time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)score of the two groups increased,the VAS score decreased,and those in the observation group were better than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of mental health,physical function,role status and social function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of bonegla protein(BGP)and procollagen typeIcarboxyl terminal peptide(PICP)in the two groups increased,and those in the observation group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Plate and screw internal fixation in the treatment of patients with traumatic fracture of long bones of extremities has better effect,it can not only shorten the operation time,accelerate the rehabilitation process,improve limb function,but also reduce the degree of pain,further improve the quality of life and prevent adverse events,which is worth promoting and applicating.
