Effects of extended nursing service based on IMB model on seizure rate and medication compliance in patients with alcoholic epilepsy
Objective To explore the effects of extended nursing service based on information-motivation-behavioral skills(IMB)model on seizure rate and medication compliance in patients with alcoholic epilepsy. Methods A total of 80 male patients with alcoholic epilepsy who were treated in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with antiepileptic drugs. On this basis, the control group was given routine nursing intervention, and the study group was given extended nursing service based on IMB model on the basis of the control group. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results Two months after discharge, the duration of epileptic seizures in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, and the number of epileptic seizures was less than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Two months after discharge, the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale(MMAS)and the Quality of Life In Epilepsy-31(QOLIE-31)scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 5.00%,which was lower than 20.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The extended nursing service based on IMB model can effectively reduce the duration and number of epileptic seizures, enhance patients'medication compliance, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and improve patients'quality of life.
