Correlation analysis between VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A gene polymorphism and clinicopathological features of prostate cancer
Objective To analyze the correlation between vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-2578(rs699947)C/A gene polymorphism and clinicopathological features of prostate cancer(PCa),and to provide evidence for clinical treatment of the disease. Methods A total of 100 patients with PCa(observation group)and 50 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(control group)diagnosed from January 2021 to December 2022 were collected as the research objects. The frequency of VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A genotype in the two groups was measured, and the relationship between the frequency of VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A genotype and clinicopathological features in PCa patients was analyzed. Results The VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A allele C/A and A/A frequencies in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the C/C frequency was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that genotype A/A+C/A was a protective factor for PCa,and C/C was a risk factor(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in age, alcoholism, prostate volume,prostate-specific antigen(PSA),tumor diameter and Gleason score between PCa patients with different VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A allele frequencies(P>0.05);there were significant differences in pathological stage and metastasis of PCa patients with different VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A allele frequencies(P<0.05).Conclusion The VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A allele in PCa patients is mainly C/C type, and the C/C genotype will increase the risk of PCa,and the expression frequency of VEGF-2578(rs699947)C/A allele is related to pathological stage and metastasis.
