Analysis of bone mineral density in the population of Baoji area
Objective To study the distribution status and characteristics of bone mineral density in Baoji area,to evaluate the risk of osteoporotic fracture,so as to provide reference for clinical intervention and health guidance. Methods The bone mineral density data of 5 830 opportunistic screening population who underwent dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA)in our hospital from June 2021 to February 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The difference of bone mineral density of various parts between different gender groups were compared;the change trend of bone mineral density of various parts with age in different gender groups were analyzed;the peak bone mineral density of various parts of different gender groups in people aged 20-80 in Baoji area and the results of large sample study in China were compared;the correlation between body mass index(BMI)and bone mineral density was analyzed. Results The bone mineral density of various parts in males were basically higher than those in females of the same age.The bone mineral density of lumbar spine was the highest, followed by bone mineral density of total hip,and bone mineral density of femoral neck was the lowest in different gender groups. With the increase of age,the change trend of bone mineral density in different gender groups was significantly different, the bone mineral density loss of males was slow, the bone mineral density loss of females started earlier, and the loss rate was faster and showed an accelerating trend. Conclusion The distribution characteristics of bone mineral density in different genders and different parts of the population in Baoji area are similar to those in most regions of China. The bone loss of females is earlier and faster, resulting in a higher incidence and earlier occurrence of osteoporosis in females.
