Effects of traditional Chinese medicine bone injury manipulation combined with acupuncture on pain symptoms and spinal stability in patients with lumbar disc herniation
Objective To explore the effects of traditional Chinese medicine bone injury manipulation combined with acupuncture on pain symptoms and spinal stability in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods A total of 96 patients with LDH admitted in the Fufeng People's Hospital from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the study objects for prospective study. The patients were divided into study group(n=43,treated with traditional Chinese medicine bone injury manipulation combined with acupuncture)and control group(n=43,treated with acupuncture)according to the lottery method. The clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome score, lumbar function, pain degree and spinal stability were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of low back pain, leg pain and leg numbness in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group and before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group and before treatment, and the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores were lower than those of the control group and before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, the lumbar lordosis angle of the study group was greater than that of the control group and before treatment, and the thoracic kyphosis angle and sacral tilt angle were significantly smaller than those of the control group and before treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine bone injury manipulation combined with acupuncture in the treatment of LDH has outstanding effect, which can significantly reduce the TCM syndrome score of patients, relieve pain symptoms, enhance spinal stability and improve lumbar function.
