Effect of silybin combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and its influences on blood glucose, blood lipid and liver function
Objective To analyze the effect of silybin combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and its influences on blood glucose, blood lipid and liver function. Methods A total of 80 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with NAFLD admitted from January 2019 to December 2022 were included in this study. The patients were divided into single drug group and combined group according to different medication methods, with 40 cases in each group. The single drug group was treated with metformin, and the combined group was treated with silybin combined with metformin. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the combined group was 97.50%,which was significantly higher than 82.50%in the single drug group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 hour postprandial blood glucose(2 h PG)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)in the two groups significantly decreased, and those in the combined group were lower than the single drug group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)in the two groups significantly decreased, and the level of high density lipoprotein(HDL)significantly increased, and those in the combined group were better than the single drug group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and total bile acids(TBA)in the two groups significantly decreased, and those in the combined group were lower than the single drug group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Silybin combined with metformin in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with NAFLD has ideal effect.
