Clinical effect of butylphthalide combined with betahistine mesylate in the treatment of patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of butylphthalide combined with betahistine mesylate in the treatment of patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo. Methods A total of 100 patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo admitted in our hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods, the patients were divided into conventional group(50 cases, betahistine mesylate)and observation group(50 cases, butylphthalide combined with betahistine mesylate). The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of neuron-specific enolase(NSE),central nervous system specific protein β(S100β),interleukin-17(IL-17)and procalcitonin(PCT)in the observation group were lower than those in the conventional group, and the levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)were higher than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the mean blood flow velocity(Vm)of vertebral artery(VA),basilar artery(BA)and posterior cerebral artery(PCA)in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the resistance index(RI)was lower than that before treatment, and those in the observation group were better than the conventional group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05);after 1 year of follow-up,the recurrence rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the conventional group(P<0.05).Conclusion Butylphthalide combined with betahistine mesylate has a significant effect in the treatment of patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo. It can quickly repair damaged nerves, alleviate oxidative stress and inflammatory response, and reduce long-term recurrence rate.
