Comparison of the application effect of bracketless invisible appliance and self-ligating bracket appliance in orthodontics and its influence on periodontal health
Objective To compare the application effect of bracketless invisible appliance and self-ligating bracket appliance in orthodontics and its influence on periodontal health.Methods A total of 84 patients with malocclusion who underwent orthodontics treatment from January to December 2020 were selected as the research objects.The patients were divided into invisible group and reference group by random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The invisible group was treated with bracketless invisible appliance,and the reference group was treated with self-ligating bracket appliance.The clinical efficacy,periodontal health,root resorption grading and comfort were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).After 6 months of orthodontic treatment,the plaque index(PLI)and sulcus bleeding index(SBI)scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the invisible group were lower than those of the reference group(P<0.05).The root absorption grade of the invisible group was better than that of the reference group,and the comfort score was higher than that of the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion The self-ligating bracket appliance and the bracketless invisible appliance are both effective means for clinical treatment of malocclusion,but the bracketless invisible appliance is more conducive to maintaining the patients'periodontal health,reducing root resorption,and improving oral comfort.
