Objective To explore the effect of low temperature plasma fenestration under video endoscopy in the treatment of maxillary cysts and its influence on wound response. Methods A total of 78 patients with maxillary cysts admitted in our hospital from January 2019 to May 2022 were selected as the research objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 39 cases in each group. The control group received traditional surgical procedures, and the observation group underwent low temperature plasma fenestration under video endoscopy. The surgical efficacy related indicators, trauma response indicators, complications and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the operation time, wound healing time and hospital stay were shorter than those in the control group, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score at 24 h after operation was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 24 h after operation, the levels of adrenocorticotrophic hormone(ACTH),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),corticotrophin releasing hormone(CRH)and C-reactive protein(CRP)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications during hospitalization and recurrence rate in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Low temperature plasma fenestration under video endoscopy is effective in the treatment of maxillary cysts. It can not only alleviate the wound response of patients, but also reduce the incidence of complications and recurrence rate.It is worth promoting.
