Comparison of the effects of two different percutaneous puncture methods of foam sclerotherapy in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities
Objective To compare the effects of two different percutaneous puncture methods of foam sclerotherapy in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities. Methods The clinical data of 43 patients(47 limbs)with varicose veins of lower extremities admitted in our hospital from October 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, the patients were divided into group A(22 cases,24 limbs)and group B(21 cases,23 limbs). The group A was treated with indwelling needle puncture and indwelling under direct vision in standing position, and then foam sclerotherapy under digital subtraction angiography(DSA)fluoroscopy in supine position was used to treat varicose veins of lower extremities;the group B was treated with foam sclerotherapy under DSA fluoroscopy by direct puncture of scalp needle in supine position for varicose veins of lower extremities. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The excellent and good rate of treatment and success rate of puncture in the group A were higher than those in the group B(P<0.05).At 6 months after operation, the Venous Clinical Severity Score(VCSS)score of the group A was lower than that of the group B,and the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOLI-74)score was higher than that of the group B(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The excellent and good rate and puncture success rate of indwelling needle puncture and indwelling under direct vision in standing position and then foam sclerotherapy under DSA fluoroscopy in supine position in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities are higher. The method can better improve the degree of varicose veins and the quality of life of patients.
