Application of spectral CT imaging in evaluating the nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaque and its relationship with the occurrence of stroke
Objective To explore the application of spectral CT imaging in the evaluating the nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaque and its relationship with the occurrence of stroke. Methods A total of 100 patients with carotid atherosclerotic plaque or stenosis admitted from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group(61 cases,no stroke occurred)and observation group(39 cases, stroke occurred)according to whether they had stroke. All patients underwent spectral CT imaging. The detection of carotid atherosclerotic plaques or stenosis and the nature of plaques were compared between the two groups;the spectral CT imaging characteristics and spectral parameters of different nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaques in the observation group were compared;Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between different nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaques and the occurrence of stroke. Results The detection rates of unstable carotid atherosclerotic plaque and carotid artery stenosis in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The detection rates of fibrous plaque and calcified plaque in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the detection rate of fat plaque was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in the spectral CT imaging features and spectral parameters of different nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaques in the observation group(P<0.05).Fibrous plaque, fat plaque and mixed plaque were closely related to the occurrence of stroke(P<0.05).Conclusion Spectral CT imaging can accurately evaluate the nature of carotid atherosclerotic plaques, clarify carotid stenosis, and help predict the occurrence of stroke.
