Influence of organizational caring on mobile phone addiction tendency among nursing undergraduates:mediating effect of self-control
Objective To explore the relationship between organizational caring,self-control and mobile phone addiction tendency among nursing undergraduates,so as to provide references basis for prevention and improvement mobile phone addiction among nursing undergraduates.Methods The Organizational Climate for Caring Questionnaire(OCCQ),Self-Control Scale(SCS)and Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale(MPATS)were used to assess the degree of organizational caring,self-control ability and mobile phone addiction tendency among 900 nursing undergraduates.Results Among 900 nursing undergraduates,there were 314 mobile phone addicts,accounting for 34.89%.The MPATS score of nursing undergraduates was negatively correlated with OCCQ score and SCS score(r=-0.156,-0.468,P<0.001);the OCCQ score was positively correlated with the SCS score(r=0.152,P<0.001).The mediating effect test results showed that self-control plays a significant mediating role between organizational caring and mobile phone addiction tendency,and the mediating effect accounts for 44.07%of the total effect.Conclusion The prevalence of mobile phone addiction is high among nursing undergraduates;self-control plays a mediating role between organizational caring and mobile phone addiction tendency,and the organizational caring can directly or indirectly reduce the risk of mobile phone addiction tendency among nursing undergraduates.
