Efficacy and safety of laparoscopic preperitoneal space tension-free repair in the treatment of elderly patients with recurrent inguinal hernia
Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic preperitoneal space tension-free repair in the treatment of elderly patients with recurrent inguinal hernia. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with recurrent inguinal hernia admitted from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into conventional group(50 cases, filling tension-free hernia repair)and observation group(50 cases, laparoscopic preperitoneal space tension-free repair). The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of operation in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, bed time and hospitalization time of the observation group were better than those of the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications, the use rate of analgesic drugs and the recurrence rate within 1 year in the observation group were lower than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After surgery, the levels of β-endorphin(β-EP),neuropeptide Y(NPY),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1),myeloperoxidase(MPO)and cortisol(Cor)in the observation group were lower than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The laparoscopic preperitoneal space tension-free repair in the treatment of elderly patients with recurrent inguinal hernia has an ideal effect.
