Effects of minocycline combined with clove oil on pain degree and pulp vitality in patients with acute reversible pulpitis
Objective To investigate the effects of minocycline combined with clove oil on pain degree and pulp vitality in patients with acute reversible pulpitis. Methods A total of 100 patients with acute reversible pulpitis admitted from January to December 2021 were selected and divided into conventional group(50 cases, clove oil)and observation group(50 cases, minocycline combined with clove oil)by random number table method. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of prostaglandin E2(PGE2),leukotriene B4(LTB4),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the observation group were lower than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the number of Streptococcus,Staphylococcus,Neisseria,Veillonella parvula,Anaerobic bacilli producing melanin in the observation group were less than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).After 3,7 and 14 d of treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score of the observation group was lower than that of the conventional group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Minocycline combined with clove oil in the treatment of patients with acute reversible pulpitis can effectively restore pulp vitality, reduce inflammation, relieve pain degree, and will not increase adverse reactions.
