Effects of home rehabilitation exercise model under empowerment theory on exercise self-efficacy and functional rehabilitation of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis
Objective To explore the application effect of home rehabilitation exercise model under empowerment theory in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods A total of 100 elderly KOA patients admitted from March 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects and divided into control group(n=50)and observation group(n=50)according to the random number table method. The control group was given routine rehabilitation exercise program, and the observation group was given home rehabilitation exercise model under empowerment theory. The degree of pain, exercise self-efficacy,exercise compliance and functional rehabilitation were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the pain degree of the observation group was significantly lighter than that of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of the Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale(ESES)and the functional exercise compliance scale of orthopedic patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of each dimension of Lequesne score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The home rehabilitation exercise model under empowerment theory can reduce the pain degree of elderly KOA patients, improve their exercise self-efficacy and functional exercise compliance, and contribute to the functional rehabilitation of patients.
