Effects of nursing intervention based on health promotion model on disease self-management ability and blood glucose variability in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective To explore the application effect of nursing intervention based on health promotion model in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with T2DM admitted from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects, and the patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group was given nursing intervention based on health promotion model on the basis of the control group. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of each dimension of the Rating Scale of Health Self-Management Skill for Adults(AHSMSRS)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the blood glucose coefficient of variation(CV)and fasting blood glucose coefficient of variation(CV-FBG)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of each dimension of the health knowledge-attitude-practice scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on health promotion model for elderly patients with T2DM can elevate their health knowledge, belief, and practice level and disease self-management ability, improve blood glucose variability, which is worthy of promotion and application.
