Effect of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic debridement and catheter drainage in the treatment of thoracolumbar tuberculosis
Objective To explore the effect of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic debridement and catheter drainage in the treatment of thoracolumbar tuberculosis. Methods A total of 60 patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis were selected as the research objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. Both groups received routine drug treatment. The control group underwent open surgery, and the observation group underwent percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic debridement and catheter drainage. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).One month after operation, the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)and Visual Analogue Score(VAS)scores of the two groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than the control group(P<0.05).One month after operation, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and C-reactive protein(CRP)level in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).One month after operation, the levels of albumin(ALB)and hemoglobin(Hb)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic debridement and catheter drainage for patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis has a significant effect, which can effectively remove tuberculosis lesions, reduce inflammation and pain, and improve lumbar function and nutritional status.
