Clinical effect of Wuling powder in the treatment of hydrocephalus after stroke
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Wuling powder in the treatment of hydrocephalus after stroke.Methods Eighty patients with hydrocephalus after stroke admitted in our hospital from April 2021 to November 2022 were selected as the study objects.The patients were divided into control group(n=40)and observation group(n=40)by random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the observation group was treated with Wuling powder on this basis.The neurological function,cognitive function,kidney function and occurrence of complications were compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)scores between the two groups of patients(P＞0.05);after treatment,the NIHSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,the MMSE score was higher than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the levels of uric acid(UA),blood urea nitrogen(BUN)and creatinine(CREA)between the two groups of patients(P＞0.05);after treatment,the levels of UA,BUN and CREA in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Wuling powder in the treatment of hydrocephalus after stroke has significant clinical effect.It can effectively improve the neurological function,cognitive function and kidney function of patients,and has fewer complications.It is worthy of clinical application and popularization.
