Effect of Erzhu Erchen decoction in the adjuvant treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome)and its influences on oxidative stress indexes and insulin resistance
Objective To explore the effect of Erzhu Erchen decoction in the adjuvant treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome)and its influences on oxidative stress indexes and insulin resistance. Methods A total of 94 obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome)admitted in our hospital from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 47 cases in each group. The control group was treated with pioglitazone combined with liraglutide, and the observation group was treated with Erzhu Erchen decoction on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the visceral fat area(VFA),waist circumference(WC),last amplitude of glycaemic excursion(LAGE)and mean amplitude of glycemic excursions(MAGE)in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of catalase(CAT),total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the fasting insulin(FINS)level and homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the insulin sensitivity index(ISI)was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Erzhu Erchen decoction in the adjuvant treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome)has good effect,it can reduce VFA and WC,improve insulin resistance and oxidative stress response, and maintain blood glucose stability, which is worth promoting.
