Analysis of the relationship between folic acid metabolism-related enzyme genes and gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension and pregnancy outcome
Objective To explore the relationship between folic acid metabolism-related enzyme genes and gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension and pregnancy outcome. Methods A total of 100 pregnant women who underwent folic acid metabolism-related enzyme genes detection in hospital from March 2020 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to the diagnosis results, the pregnant women were divided into gestational diabetes mellitus group(25 cases),gestational hypertension group(27 cases)and normal group(48 cases). The polymorphisms of MTHFR gene 677C>T and MTRR gene 66A>G in gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension and normal pregnant women were compared. The polymorphisms of MTHFR gene 677C>T and MTRR gene 66A>G in good pregnancy and poor pregnancy pregnant women were compared. Results The level of folic acid in the gestational diabetes mellitus group and the gestational hypertension group was lower than that in the normal group(P<0.05).The proportion of CC,CT,TT genotypes and the frequency of C,T alleles of MTHFR gene 677C>T locus in the gestational diabetes mellitus group and the gestational hypertension group had significantly differences with those in the normal group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the proportion of AA,AG and GG genotypes and the frequency of A and G alleles of MTRR gene 66A>G locus among the gestational diabetes mellitus group and the gestational hypertension group and the normal group(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the proportion of CC,CT and TT genotypes and the frequency of C and T alleles of MTHFR gene 677C>T locus between the good pregnancy group and the poor pregnancy group(P>0.05).The proportion of AA,AG and GG genotypes and the frequency of A and G alleles of MTRR gene 66A>G locus in the poor pregnancy group had significantly differences with those in the good pregnancy group(P<0.05).Conclusion MTHFR gene 677C>T polymorphism is associated with gestational diabetes mellitus and gestational hypertension, and MTRR gene 66A>G polymorphism is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes.
