Objective To investigate the effects of nursing model based on family empowerment combined with individualized nutritional diet management on dietary behavior and self-care ability of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 80 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus admitted from November 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects, and the patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, and the observation group was given nursing model based on family empowerment combined with individualized nutritional diet management on the basis of the control group. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of dietary knowledge, dietary plan and dietary compliance in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of each dimension of Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing model based on family empowerment combined with individualized nutritional diet management applied in the nursing of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus can not only improve their dietary behavior and enhance self-care ability, but also effectively regulate the level of glucose and lipid metabolism.
