Clinical effect of one-stage flexible ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of 2-3 cm renal calculi
Objective To explore the clinical effect of one-stage flexible ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of 2-3 cm renal calculi. Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with single renal calculi ≤3 cm in diameter who were treated in the hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected.According to the size of calculi, the patients were divided into group A(2-3 cm renal calculi,45 cases)and group B(<2 cm renal calculi,55 cases). Both groups were treated with one-stage flexible ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy. The surgical effects of the two groups were compared. Results The operation time of the group A was longer than that of the group B,the intraoperative blood loss was more than that of the group B,and the postoperative body temperature rise value was higher than that of the group B(P<0.05);there were no significant differences in the success rate of sheath placement, success rate of lithotripsy,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score at 24 h after operation, cost of treatment and hospital stay between the two groups(P>0.05).After operation, the levels of interleukin-1(I L-1),C-reactive protein(CRP)and neutrophil percentage(NEU%)in the two groups were higher than those before operation(P<0.05);there were no significant differences in white blood cell count(WBC),hematocrit(HCT)and hemoglobin(Hb)between the two groups before and after operation(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in stone clearance rate and the incidences of postoperative complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion One-stage flexible ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy has similar stone clearance rate for patients with renal calculi of 2-3 cm and<2 cm,and does not cause more damage and complications. It has definite clinical effect, high safety and good patient tolerance.
