Qualitative study on psychological experience of primary caregivers of patients with severe pulmonary hypertension
Objective To describe the psychological process of the primary caregivers of patients with severe pulmonary hypertension(SPH),and to provide point of reference for the development of targeted disease nursing and psychological support programs.Methods The phenomenological research method was used to conduct face-to-face and semi-structured interviews with the primary caregivers of 10 SPH patients,and the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method was used to analyze the interview data.Results Finally,four themes were extracted:changes in lifestyle and physical symptoms,uncertainty facing the future,lack of disease-related knowledge,and multi-dimensional support needs.Conclusion The primary caregivers of long-term SPH patients have a heavy burden and obvious needs.Nursing workers should pay attention to this and show solicitude for the quality of home care for SPH patients in order to improve the quality of life of SPH patients and prolong their lives.
