Evaluation of dietary quality of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy by dietary balance index
Objective To evaluate and analyze the dietary nutritional status of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.Methods A total of 211 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy admitted in our hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected.The patients 24 h dietary for 3 consecutive days was recorded and evaluated using the Dietary Balance Index-16(DBI-16).Results The dietary status of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy showed a low degree of imbalance,the main problem was insufficient intake,especially the intake of fruits,milk,fish and shrimp,and soybeans.The patients of different age groups have the problem of insufficient and excessive dietary intake.Among them,the dietary imbalance of patients aged 18-59 years is low,while the dietary imbalance of patients aged≥60 years is high.Conclusion Breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy have the problem of overall unbalanced dietary intake and low imbalance of dietary intake.Patients should be guided to have a reasonable dietary to help them establish a balanced dietary pattern to improve the quality of dietary.
