Effect of"Clown Doctor"model on the psychological state of young cancer patients
Objective To explore the effect of"Clown Doctor"model on the psychological state of young cancer patients.Methods A total of 65 young cancer patients who were treated in the oncology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College from January 2020 to April 2023 were selected as the research objects,and all of them received the intervention of the"Clown Doctor"model.The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Generic Scale(FACT-G)Chinese version(v4.0)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores before and after intervention were compared to evaluate the psychological status,quality of life and sleep quality.Results After intervention,the SAS score of the patients was significantly lower than that before intervention(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in SDS score between before and after intervention(P>0.05).After intervention,the scores of physiological status,social/family status and total score of FACT-G decreased(P<0.05);there were no significant differences in the scores of emotional status and functional status of patients between before and after intervention(P>0.05).After intervention,the sleep quality,fall asleep time,sleep time,daytime dysfunction and PSQI total score of the patients were lower than those before intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion The"Clown Doctor"model helps to improve the anxiety and sleep quality of young cancer patients,and has a certain mitigation effect on the deterioration of depression,emotional status and functional status in quality of life caused by anti-tumor therapy.
