Application effect of three-dimensional printing combined with project-based learning in practice teaching of medical imaging
Objective To explore the application effect of three-dimensional(3D)printing combined with project-based learning(PBL)in practice teaching of medical imaging. Methods From September 1,2021 to April 12,2022,42 undergraduates majoring in medical imaging who underwent imaging practice in the radiology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China were selected as the research objects.According to the parity of the number, the students were divided into control group(n=20)and observation group(n=22).The control group was treated with PBL,and the observation group was treated with 3D printing combined with PBL.The mastery of anatomical knowledge, satisfaction of teaching methods and test scores of theoretical courses were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of intervention, the mastery of anatomical knowledge, satisfaction of teaching methods and test scores of theoretical courses in the observation group were higher than those before intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after 2 weeks of intervention, the mastery of anatomical knowledge, satisfaction of teaching methods and test scores of theoretical courses in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion 3D printing combined with PBL can improve the mastery of anatomical knowledge, satisfaction of teaching methods and test scores of theoretical courses of medical students in imaging practice, which can be widely used in clinical practice teaching.
