Clinical research progress of Scarf osteotomy for the treatment of hallux valgus deformity
Hallux valgus is a common foot deformity in clinic.It is usually manifested as abduction and internal rotation of the first phalange,adduction,internal rotation and elevation of the first metatarsal bone,and contracture of the lateral joint capsule of the first metatarsophalangeal joint.Among them,the development of hallux valgus deformity to moderate to severe will even appear hallux valgus,arch reduction,walking instability and other symptoms,seriously affecting the patient's daily life and work.Because of its better operability,strong orthopedic ability and stability,Scarf osteotomy has become the mainstream operation in recent years.This article summarizes the clinical application progress of Scarf osteotomy and its modified operation in the treatment of hallux valgus by extensive literature review.
