Objective To explore the correlation between cognitive impairment and frailty in the elderly.Meth-ods The data of comprehensive geriatric assessment in 98 elderly patients in Beijing NO.6 hospital from June 2022 to May 2023 was retrospectively analyzed.Cognitive impairment was assessed by MMSE.Frailty was evaluated by the Fried frailty phenotype and FRAIL scales respectively.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship be-tween cognitive impairment and frailty. Results Among 98 patients,39(39.8%)were male, and the age was(78.9±9.3)years old.Based on Fried frailty phenotype scale, the prevalence of cognitive impairment was 14.3%in the non-frailty patients,17.2%in the pre-frailty patients, and 57.6%in the frail patients, and the differences were statistically significant among the three groups(x2=16.059,P<0.001).Based on FRAIL scale, the prevalence of cognitive impair-ment was 4.2%in the non-frailty patients,25.0%in the pre-frailty patients, and 60.0%in the frail patients, and the differences were statistically significant(x2=20.752,P<0.001).The prevalence of grip strength decline in the sub-jects with cognitive impairment(70%)was higher than that in the subjects without cognitive impairment(48.5%),and the difference was statistically significant(x2=3.879,P=0.049).The SPPB score of the group with cognitive im-pairment(3.67±3.33)was lower than that of the group without cognitive impairment(6.75±2.97),the difference was statistically significant(t=4.566,P<0.001).Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used, when Fried frailty phenotype was introduced as an independent variable(OR=4.253,95%CI:1.539-11.750,P=0.005),when FRAIL score was introduced as an independent variable(OR=4.052,95%CI:1.630-10.073,P=0.003),all indicated that cognitive impairment was closely related to frailty. Conclusions Cognitive impairment in the elderly is closely related to frailty, health management of the elderly needs to take into account the two aspects of comprehensive intervention.
