There are over 500 types of orthopedic diseases,and the global aging population significantly increa-ses the demand for early diagnosis,prevention,and rehabilitation of orthopedic diseases.In March 2009,the Eighth Med-ical Center of the PLA General Hospital established an bone medicine department of orthopedic that integrates clinical practice,teaching,and scientific research,established a standardized diagnosis and treatment system for osteoporosis,ac-tively promoted research on osteoporosis,promoted a comprehensive health management model for osteoporosis through-out the process,popularized health education for chronic degenerative diseases in the elderly nationwide,and carried out osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment work with"precision medicine"as the core,which was recognized and paid atten-tion to by industry experts and media.The construction and development of bone medicine department of orthopedic are in line with the needs of China's aging population,chronic bone disease management,and healthy China.
