Objective To analyze the incidence and mortality of liver cancer in China in 2020,and to compare the burden of liver cancer in Republic of Korea and Japan,so as to provide basis for further improving the prevention and treatment strategies of liver cancer in China.Methods The incidence and mortality data of liver cancer in China,Re-public of Korea and Japan were extracted from GLOBOCAN 2020 and analyzed by gender and age.Results In 2020,there were 410 038 new cases of liver cancer in China,with a crude incidence rate of 28.3 per 100 000(male 40.8 per 100 000,female 15.2 per 100 000)and Age Standard Rate World(ASR World)of 18.2 per 100 000.There were 14 788 new cases of liver cancer in Republic of Korea,with a crude incidence rate of 28.8 per 100 000(male 42.6 per 100 000,female 15.1 per 100 000)and ASR World of 14.3 per 100 000.There were 45 663 new cases of liver cancer in Japan,with a crude incidence rate of 36.1 per 100 000(male 48.3 per 100 000,female 24.4 per 100 000)and ASR World of 10.4 per 100 000.In 2020,a total of 391 152 cases died of liver cancer in China,with a crude mortality rate of 27.0 per 100 000(male 38.8 per 100 000,female 14.6 per 100 000)and ASR World of 17.2 per 100 000.A total of 11 158 cases died of liver cancer in China,with a crude mortality rate of 21.8 per 100 000(male 31.6 per 100 000,fe-male 11.9 per 100 000)and ASR World of 9.9 per 100 000.A total of 28 155 cases died of liver cancer in China,with a crude mortality rate of 22.3 per 100 000(male 29.4 per 100 000,female 15.4 per 100 000)and ASR World of 4.8 per 100 000.Conclusions China has a high incidence of liver cancer.Compared with Republic of Korea and Ja-pan,the onset and death of liver cancer in China are earlier.The strategies for liver cancer prevention and treatment should be further strengthened according to different genders,age groups and regions.
