Objective To investigate the occurrence of frailty in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and its correlations with nutritional status and pulmonary function indicators. Methods A total of 60 patients with COPD were enrolled in department of geriatric respiratory and critical care medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from March 2022 to June 2023.According to the FRAIL scale, the patients were divided into a frailty group(22 cases)and a non-frailty group(38 cases). The data of general information and clinical related indi-cators(hemoglobin,albumin,prealbumin,FEV1,FVC,etc.)、body composition(body protein content, body mineral con-tent,SMM,percentage of body fat)were measured by Bioelectric Impedance Analysis method of the patients were col-lected.Analyze and compare the correlation between two groups of frailty status, nutritional status, and lung function.Re-sults The BMI,serum ALB,body protein content, body mineral content,ASMI,SMM,BFM,FFM,AMC,and WHR in the frailty group were lower than those in the non-frailty group(P<0.05).The CAT score, the number of cases of sar-copenia,and the nutritional risk incidence rate in the frailty group were higher than those in the non-frailty group(P<0.05).Through Spearman analysis, the FRAIL score was significantly positively correlated with the incidence of sarcope-nia and CAT score(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with ALB,BMI,body protein content, body mineral content,ASMI,SMM,FFM,AMC,FEV1,and FVC(P<0.05).Conclusions The frailty status of COPD patients is closely related to nutritional status, lung function, and other indicators. In clinical practice, frailty screening and nutritional status assess-ment should be conducted as early as possible for COPD patients, and targeted intervention measures should be adopted.
