The prognosis of cirrhosis does not depend solely on the severity of the disease.More and more stud-ies have confirmed the important role of physical function in patient prognosis.Asthenia is a syndrome characterized by a decline in function and a decrease in physiological reserve, and is common in patients with cirrhosis. The decline in physical function of patients further leads to the increase in morbidity and mortality and the decline in quality of life and other adverse outcomes, and sarcopenia is a key component of asthenia. Therefore, early detection and assessment of the severity of asthenia in patients with cirrhosis is conducive to personalized management by clinicians. Therefore, this paper mainly reviews the research progress in the evaluation and treatment of asthenia and sarcopenia in patients with cirrho-sis,in order to provide diagnosis and treatment ideas for clinical prevention and treatment of disease states.
