Superficial varicose veins of the lower limbs is one of the common diseases in vascular surgery,often occurring in the great saphenous vein,the small saphenous vein and its branches.The treatment of varicose veins of the lower limbs includes open surgery and endovenous minimally invasive treatment.Traditional superficial vein ligation and stripping has a history of more than a hundred years,and is considered to be the classic treatment for varicose veins of the lower limbs in long-term clinical practice.Minimally invasive endovenous treatments include laser,radiofrequency,microwave,foam sclerotherapy,mechanochemical ablation,Tri Vex minimally invasive rotational dissection,and intrave-nous injection of cyanoacrylate gel.Each of these procedures has its own advantages and disadvantages,and the combina-tion of multiple modalities is often more effective.This article provides an overview of the common treatment modalities for varicose veins of the lower extremities,to provide a basis for the treatment of lower limb varicose veins.
